Part-Time Teaching Assistant (Wednesday-Friday) - Job Share
Year 2 Class | Chesterfield | Moderately Sized Primary School

Start Date: Monday 13th April or ASAP

A welcoming and moderately sized primary school in Chesterfield is seeking a confident and experienced teacher to work Wednesday to Friday in a Year 2 class.

This position is part of a job share arrangement, so strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills are essential to ensure consistency for the pupils across the week.

The Role:

Teaching and learning within a Year 2 classroom

Supporting phonics, early reading, and numeracy

Managing the classroom to create an environment for positive behaviour and maintaining high classroom expectations

Preparing resources and assisting with classroom organisation

The Ideal Candidate:

QTS essential
Has recent experience working in Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience preferred)

Is a strong behaviour manager and confident supporting whole-class learning

Is proactive, adaptable, and able to use initiative

Communicates effectively to ensure smooth handovers within the job share
