Your new role
The main purpose of the role is to ensure the ongoing delivery of robust, stable, and functional IT systems to the manufacturing plant, escalating issues when required.
The IT Site Lead will be capable of managing the day-to-day requirements while also developing systems fit for future. The incumbent will be act as local site support within a global organization and be the first point of contact on site for hardware issues.
This role has a key part to play in ensuring that local systems are designed and developed to fit with the globalised nature of the organization while ensuring the availability of these systems for shop-floor use.
Strong desktop computer support and a passion to further develop these skills in a continuous improvement environment are required to maintain local systems.
Work closely with broad range of key stakeholder on critical systems; design improvements and optimizations, including opportunity to learn, design and deliver front end and back-end web-based systems
Maintain availability of the local Manufacturing System
Work with maintenance team to ensure that key production systems perform
Take the role of lead IT contact for the site, providing a link between local users and remote based IT helpdesk support
Awareness of IT Security policies
Able to share knowledge to upskill non-IT trained individuals how to resolve simple IT issues
Ensure that local hardware requirements (laptops/desktops/printers/phones/video conferencing) are maintained and managed.
Ensure local network infrastructure components (routers, switches, modems VLANs, IP addresses, cables, fibre optics) are maintained, including server room
Be an active team member supporting the whole site in delivering key business objectives through a service focused mindset
Drives their own continuous development to deliver business performance growth
Technical understanding of a broad range of IT scripts
Works well under pressure with a respect for deadlines
Comfortable working as part of a team or standalone
Good prioritization skills and the ability to keep multiple projects and tasks running simultaneously
Very strong skills in communication, both written and verbal, able to engage others
Approachable and friendly Enthusiastic and driven to complete projects
Passionate to learn and grow in a continuous improvement environment Imaging hardware, testing network functionality, fixing hardware issues
Experience working with Active Directory
SAP exposure (desirable)
Relevant IT/Computing Degree
CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA
