Outreach Tutor - English, Maths & Science (Buckinghamshire)

Prospero Teaching is seeking experienced and compassionate Outreach Tutors to deliver tailored, 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and Science to young people across Buckinghamshire who are currently without a school placement. Many of these learners may have been out of education for some time and require patient, engaging, and structured support to help rebuild confidence and reintroduce routine into their lives.

This is an ideal opportunity for qualified teachers or experienced tutors looking for flexible, rewarding work outside the traditional classroom environment. A background in SEN (Special Educational Needs) or experience supporting vulnerable learners is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver personalised 1:1 sessions (English, Maths, Science) based on the student's needs and learning gaps
• Plan and adapt sessions to suit each learner's educational level and emotional readiness
• Encourage and motivate disengaged learners to reengage with education
• Maintain regular progress updates and liaise with Prospero's support team

DETAILS:

• Location: Across Buckinghamshire (home or community settings)
• Position: Outreach Tutor (Core Subjects)
• Hours: 10-15 hours per week (flexible scheduling, typically 1-3 hours per session)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay Rate: From £25 per hour
• Contract Type: Temporary (ongoing or until student is reintegrated into school)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent) preferred
• Experience teaching in UK schools (minimum 6 months)
• SEN experience (e.g. SEMH, ASD, ADHD) highly valued
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (can be provided if needed)
• A passion for making education accessible for all learners

ESSENTIAL:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
• Two recent, child-related references
