Senior Software Development Manager

South East England | Hybrid

This isn't a role for a technical leader.
It's for someone who builds teams that deliver.

The Situation

You'll lead a 15-person software team working on complex C++ systems in RF and wireless communications.

The engineers are strong.
The challenge is structure, clarity, and consistent delivery within a global organisation.

This role exists to fix that.

What You'll Own

You won't be judged on code.

You'll be judged on whether the team:

* Delivers consistently

* Operates with clarity

* Works effectively across an international structure

Your focus:

* Bring structure and organisation to the team

* Support engineers from graduate to architect

* Remove friction with stakeholders across Europe

* Create an environment where engineers perform at their best

What This Role Is Not

If you want to code — this isn't your role.
If you lead through technical authority — this isn't your role.
If you micro-manage — this isn't your role.

What This Requires

* Experience leading software engineering teams

* Ability to bring order to complex environments

* Comfortable influencing in a large, international organisation

* Background in C++ systems or similar (but no longer hands-on)
