Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our client specialist school in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, supporting students aged 5 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Condition and a range of behavioural needs.

This is a position for someone who can take initiative, lead interventions, and model positive behaviour strategies, while nurturing each student's confidence, learning, and independence.

What You'll Be Doing:

Supporting the teaching team by delivering pre-planned lessons and activities

Leading small group sessions and 1:1 interventions tailored to students' individual needs

Using structured behavioural support strategies to help pupils regulate and thrive

Contributing to planning and assessment alongside class teachers and SEN specialists

Modelling inclusive practice and supporting other classroom staff where needed

Helping create a calm, consistent, and engaging learning environment

Building trusting relationships with pupils to foster social and emotional growth

What We're Looking For:

Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, including autism and behavioural challenges

Confidence leading learning activities and managing a classroom environment

Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour support, and child development

A patient, resilient, and collaborative approach to working in a SEN setting

Level 3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent experience (HLTA status preferred)

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/Level 4 or above

Key Details:

Location: Lyndhurst, Hampshire

Role: Higher Level SEN Teaching Assistant (Temp to Perm)

Hours: Mon-Tue 08:30-16:30, Wed-Thu 08:30-16:00, Fri 08:30-15:00

Term Time: 39 weeks per year

Pay: From £16 per hour

Start Date: Flexible

Essential Requirements:

Right to work in the UK

Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

Two professional references from recent educational or childcare settings
