An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Locum Adult Social Care Lawyer to join a busy Local Authority Legal Team based in the South West. The position is offered on an all remote working basis and will be for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension following this period.
The successful applicant will be a Solicitor, Barrister, Lawyer or Legal Executive with experience in Adult Social Care preferably within a Local Authority. The client is happy to consider a start date within the New Year and equipment will be provided.
The generic duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Managing a full caseload and providing advice and support to Local Authority and Public Bodies with the focus on Court of Protection Matters
- High Court Deprivation of Liberty Services
- Judicial Review proceedings
- Social Care Debt Matters
- Mental Health matters including admission, treatment and appointment and displacement of nearest relatives under the Mental Health Act 1983
An hourly rate of between £45-50 per hour is on offer depending on experience.
