£50m Turnover Group | Manufacturing Environment

My client a growing £50 million turnover business operating as part of a wider Group, and we are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join our Group Management Accounts team. This is a key role supporting the production of accurate, timely financial information and providing insight into divisional performance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

Reporting into the Group FC, you will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process and play an active role in improving controls, systems and reporting efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly Management Accounts

• Prepare monthly management accounts to timetable
• Calculate and review cost of sales
• Reconcile inventory and inventory provisions
• Prepare accruals and prepayments schedules
• Prepare and review payroll journals
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Reconcile and agree intercompany accounts
• Review management accounts and analyse variances against budget and prior periods

Balance Sheet Reconciliations

• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations for:
  • Fixed assets
  • Inventory and inventory provisions
  • Prepayments
  • Trade debtors and trade creditors
  • Warranty provisions
  • Accruals
  • Intercompany balances

Analysis & Business Support

• Support analysis of divisional and operational performance
• Provide meaningful financial insight to support decision-making

Other Duties

• Support and complete the month-end close process
• Implement process control improvements to ensure data integrity within Sage
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
• Support finance system implementations and ongoing improvements
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and year-end audit processes

Skills & Qualifications

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Proactive, inquisitive and detail-focused mindset
• Proven experience within a manufacturing environment, including inventory accounting
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data effectively
• Technically savvy with a strong confidence to pick up systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the confidence to challenge and improve processes
