Job Role of the Warehouse Team Leader
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join a busy and well-structured distribution operation. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can drive performance, maintain high standards of safety and accuracy, and motivate a team to consistently achieve operational targets.
You will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives to ensure accurate, safe and timely handling of products, delivering the correct product, quantity and quality to customers on time. This is a key position within the operation, supporting productivity, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Team Leader
- Lead and supervise warehouse operatives to achieve productivity and accuracy targets
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety
- Conduct investigations and disciplinary meetings where required
- Ensure correct product presentation and dispatch accuracy
- Induct, train and support new and agency staff
- Monitor attendance, productivity and KPI performance
- Communicate operational updates and escalate issues appropriately
- Safely operate warehouse machinery and equipment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and problem resolution
Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Warehouse Team Leader
- Previous warehouse leadership experience within a fast-paced environment
Desirable Requirements
- FMCG experience
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
