Second in Charge of English (2iC)

Location: Ealing

An exciting opportunity is available for an ambitious and talented Second in Charge of English (2iC) to join a high-performing secondary school in Ealing. This is a crucial leadership role, supporting the Head of Department in driving academic excellence, curriculum development, and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning across the English department. The successful candidate will have a significant impact on student outcomes and staff development.

The Role

The 2iC of English will:

* Support the Head of English in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the department.

* Lead on specific areas of curriculum development, assessment, or teaching and learning initiatives.

* Mentor and support colleagues, including ECTs, to foster excellent teaching practice.

* Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of teaching standards and student progress.

* Teach engaging and challenging English lessons across all key stages.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a highly skilled English Teacher (QTS/QTLS) who:

* Has a strong track record of excellent classroom teaching and student outcomes.

* Possesses proven leadership potential or experience in a similar role.
