Salary: £13.68 - £14.50/hour

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioners to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children in a nursery setting.

This role involves providing high-quality care and education to children, fostering their development, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.This position is in Sunderland, SR2 postcode and would be full time across 4 days or there are part time positions available for 2-3 days! Key Responsibilities

Childcare and Education

* Deliver excellent early years practice in line with the EYFS and nursery policies.

* Plan and support engaging, age-appropriate play and learning experiences.

* Observe, assess, and record children's progress and use this to inform next steps.

* Promote independence, confidence, and curiosity in every child.

* Create a calm, safe, and inclusive environment that celebrates each child's individuality.

Safeguarding and Safety

* Always follow safeguarding and child protection procedures.

* Maintain correct staff-to-child ratios and ensure constant supervision.

* Carry out safety checks of toys, resources, and play areas.

* Act promptly to report concerns or hazards to the Room Leader or Manager.

Communication and Teamwork

* Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

* Communicate effectively with families, sharing progress and updates.

* Work closely with your team to plan, reflect, and deliver consistent practice.

* Support and respect colleagues, promoting teamwork and a positive working environment.

Professional Conduct and Development

* Be a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and commitment.

* Follow all nursery policies and procedures including safeguarding, health & safety, and equality.

* Engage in training, supervisions, and staff meetings to support your own professional growth.

* Contribute ideas and feedback to help improve daily practice and routines.

Requirements

* Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting.

* A qualification in childcare and education.

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative.

* A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development through play-based learning.
