A plastic extrusion design and manufacturer based in Chichester seeks a Multi Skilled Engineer with electrical bias to join their team in a full time, permanent opportunity.

The successful candidate will, ideally, be a time served, apprenticeship trained engineer, with a good working knowledge of programmable controllers and encoders. They will thrive in a busy and demanding environment, possessing motor drive units and inverters knowledge, that extends to fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and rectification.

Location: Chichester

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + Benefits + Overtime

Principal Accountabilities:

* Assessment, diagnosis and repair of equipment to provide a fully comprehensive maintenance service to the manufacturing facilities

* Service and repair of all equipment involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

* Checking instrumentation and arranging for calibration where necessary.

* Responding immediately to equipment breakdowns

* Fixing faults on site, arranging and fitting replacement parts

* Overhauling and replacing parts according to schedule

* Carry out routine maintenance and machine refurbishment or upgrades as required to keep the machinery or equipment fit for purpose

* Maintain accurate records of work carried out on all equipment

* Re-locate and install equipment as required

* Assisting in any other task as requested by Directors or managers of the company

Job Requirements and Experience:

* Qualified Engineer with the necessary qualifications for carrying out electrical and mechanical installations

* 17th/18th Edition is an advantage

* The minimum requirement is Level 3 NVQ or an equivalent

* Minimum 5 years' maintenance experience

* Knowledge of programmable controllers and encoders

* Knowledge of motor drive units and inverters

* PAT Testing & Safe Working at Heights would be an advantage

* Computer knowledge for maintaining and updating accurate maintenance records

* Experience working on compressors, chillers and extruders in general would be an advantage

* Ability to work quickly and under pressure

* Ability to manage a varied workload

* Initiative and ability to work on your own and as part of a team

* Flexibility to work out of hours for emergency call outs etc, and different shift patterns

* An awareness of health and safety legislation
