What is a deepfake?
It's a process where existing images and videos are combined and can be used to create fake news and hoaxes.
Appen is seeking smartphone users for a large-scale video collection project. In this collection, users will be instructed to use their devices to take videos, speaking on different topics in a wide variety of recording environments and recording angles. If possible, you can include others in your video - more details can be found when you sign on!
The video collected will be manipulated according to deepfake methods. These modified videos will then be used in a research competition by the AI community aimed to identify and detect deepfaked videos.
This is important work to combat damaging representations in the media. Help us by joining this collection today. Each video only needs to be 1 minute long.
