Job Title: Industrial Refrigeration Engineer - Ammonia Experience
Location: London, Essex, Midlands
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (Depending on Experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (50 hours/week incl. overtime)
Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join a well-established company specialising in industrial and commercial refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with ammonia-based systems and other refrigeration technologies across various industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out service and maintenance tasks on refrigeration systems at customer sites in accordance with company standards.

* Support commissioning and assist in managing refrigeration installation projects.

* Ensure full compliance with health & safety procedures and legal requirements during all work activities.

* Identify and report opportunities to improve plant safety, performance, and reliability.

* Carry out ad-hoc duties as required by the Supervisor or General Manager.

* Be flexible to work additional hours including evenings and weekends when needed (short notice may apply).

* Effectively manage your schedule using email and calendar tools to complete tasks efficiently.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

* City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (or equivalent).

* F-Gas qualification (Refrigerant Handling - Category 1).

* Ammonia Safe Handling Certification (mandatory).

* Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial/commercial refrigeration service and installation.

* Strong knowledge and experience with:

* CO₂ systems

* Ammonia-based systems

* Electrical fault finding

* Valid CSCS card.

* IPAF, PASMA (Mobile Tower), and Asbestos Awareness training.

* Ability to work independently and manage workloads across multiple sites.

Additional Information:

* Standard working hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm (Monday to Friday), 50 hours/week

* Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

* Company vehicle and fuel card may be provided depending on role structure
