Role Outline:
The Occupational Health Nurse is an integral part of the team, providing a compassionate, professional clinical service that is instrumental in the quality of care that our clients receive. To provide clear visible professional advice to our client's employees by providing a full Occupational Health remit in line with the client contract including consultation, vaccination, phlebotomy, health surveillance, medical assessments, advice and education.
What you'll be doing:
The role involves conducting case management appointments including assessing employee fitness for specific job roles and issuing appropriate fitness certificates. Additionally, the role requires writing letters to GPs or specialists, adhering to the Access to Medical Reports Act and the Data Protection Act.
The position also involves responding to requests from clients or managers for support or information regarding the working environment. It is essential to maintain accurate records in line with departmental protocols and NMC standards. Health surveillance is provided in accordance with current legislation and client risk assessments, alongside delivering vaccination and phlebotomy services.
You will build strong working relationships and effective communication with clients and their managers and take responsibility for managing and maintaining equipment in collaboration with the client.
What we are looking for:
The job requires NMC Part 1 registration and a qualification in Occupational Health, alongside relevant knowledge and experience in the field. The candidate must have a clear understanding of professional accountability, case management, and pre-employment assessments. They should also be confident in screening, medical escalation, and interpreting statistics to develop health needs assessments and run health and wellbeing programmes.
The role demands a proactive and self-motivated individual who can work both independently and as part of a team. Strong IT skills, confidentiality, and the ability to prioritise workload, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines are essential. Additionally, the candidate should be approachable, with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Location:
This is an onsite role, based on our clients site in Weybridge.
Hours:
This is a part time position, 15 hours per week, Thursdays & Fridays between the hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm
Salary:
The salary banding for the role is £37,000 - £39,000 per annum (FTE)
