Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a passionate and resilient Teacher to join a specialist secondary provision in North London that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed teacher who is motivated to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to engage with education and reach their potential.

The Role
The successful candidate will teach students aged 11-16 who may present with a range of needs including SEMH, behavioural challenges, ADHD, autism, and disrupted educational backgrounds. Class sizes are small, allowing for a more personalised approach to learning and behaviour support.

As a Teacher in this setting, you will play a vital role in creating a structured, supportive and engaging learning environment, helping students develop both academically and emotionally.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students' individual needs

Supporting students to develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviours

Managing behaviour using consistent and restorative approaches

Working closely with Learning Support Assistants and pastoral staff to support student progress

Monitoring and assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly

Building strong, positive relationships with students to foster trust and engagement

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience working with students with SEND or SEMH needs is highly desirable

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

A patient, empathetic and resilient approach

Ability to build positive relationships and maintain high expectations for all learners

Teachers with experience in special schools, PRUs, alternative provisions, or mainstream settings supporting SEND students are strongly encouraged to apply.
