We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Woking. This role is ideal for someone passionate about providing tailored educational support to students with special educational needs (SEN). The successful candidate will work closely with SEN students, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide one-to-one support and small group sessions with SEN students to enhance their learning and development.
  • Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to meet the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to implement and adjust individual education plans (IEPs) effectively.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing detailed feedback to teachers and parents to help shape further educational strategies.
  • Assist students with physical needs, including mobility, personal care, and use of learning aids, as required.
  • Create and maintain a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, ensuring they align with school policies and support students' well-being.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, with specific experience working with SEN students.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges faced by SEN students and effective strategies to address these challenges in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • High levels of patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal growth of children with special educational needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs education are highly desirable, such as a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
