Job Description About Us
We are a dynamic and innovative caterer offering an exciting culinary experience across seven chef-led counters for a prestigeous financial client. Our focus spans street food, modern European and world cuisines, complemented by a bustling hospitality and fine dining operation. We pride ourselves on quality, creativity, and exceptional customer experiences.
Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Retail Head Chef to lead our culinary team. This role offers the unique opportunity to drive innovation and creativity across multiple food counters, while supporting a busy hospitality and fine dining offer. The successful candidate will take full ownership of menu creation and kitchen operations, with a keen eye on financial performance and operational efficience as well as liaising with both of the Hospitality and fine dining head chefs, supporting both the busy hospitality and fine dining teams to ensure service standards and expectations are met day to day.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and write a weekly menu across seven diverse chef-led counters, focusing on street food, modern European, Asian, and world cuisine.
• Prioritize seasonality and locally sourced produce to create fresh, exciting, and cost-effective dishes.
• Manage food cost, gross profit (GP), and stock controls to ensure financial targets are met.
• Lead, train, and develop a talented culinary team, fostering growth and maintaining high standards.
• Collaborate with the wider hospitality team to support seamless integration with fine dining and other service areas.
• Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, hygiene, due diligence and food and health and safety in accordance with regulations.
• Innovate and adapt menu offerings to reflect current food trends and customer preferences.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Proven experience as a head chef, group chef or senior chef role in a retail or multi-counter food environment.
• Strong knowledge of diverse cuisines, particularly street food, modern European, Asian and world food.
• Excellent financial acumen relating to menu costing, food cost control, and stock management.
• Demonstrable leadership skills with experience in training and developing kitchen teams.
• Passion for innovation, creativity, and delivering exceptional food experiences.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
