Home Manager – Semi-Independent Services

Reed is proud to partner with a leading children’s charity to recruit a Home Manager for a vital supported housing service under the London Accommodation Pathfinder. This London-wide initiative supports 16–17-year-olds in contact with the youth justice system, helping them avoid custody and build brighter futures.

As Home Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team in creating a trauma-informed, supportive environment that empowers young people through education, training, and independent living skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people through effective safeguarding practices and collaboration with external agencies.
  • Work closely with local authorities to reduce reoffending and support young people in fulfilling court orders.
  • Supervise and develop staff through regular performance reviews, training, and coaching.
  • Manage housing operations, including income maximisation and license agreements.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels through rota planning and locum recruitment.
  • Foster a trauma-informed culture throughout the home.
What We’re Looking For
  • A relevant qualification in Social Work, Youth Justice, Probation, Residential Care, or Youth Work.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting young people in leaving care, housing, or residential settings.
  • At least 1 year’s experience managing a supported accommodation or residential service.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Contextual safeguarding and The Children’s Act 1989.
    • Supported Accommodation Standards and Regulations (2023).
    • Youth offending issues, including substance misuse and mental health.
    • Restorative justice and systemic challenges faced by non-white youth in the justice system.
    • Welfare benefits and Youth Offending Services.
    • Health & Safety and GDPR compliance.
