About the Role Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lancaster, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to support their new Early Years intake this academic year.
This is a general class-based TA role in Reception, ideal for someone with a passion for early childhood education and a nurturing approach to learning and development. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team to ensure a smooth transition for the new cohort of pupils.
Key Responsibilities -
Provide general classroom support to the Reception teacher, assisting with lessons, activities, and classroom routines

Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils, both in small groups and 1:1

Help prepare and maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment

Assist with EYFS assessments and observations, contributing to learning journals

Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and staff to support well-being and learning

Promote good behaviour and follow safeguarding protocols at all times
Requirements Experience working with Early Years/Reception-aged children (school or nursery)A relevant qualification (Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or EYFS) - desirableA caring, patient, and proactive approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to adapt to the needs of individual learnersAn enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)Availability to work 08:30-15:30, Monday to Friday
