I have a great opportunity for a DEDICATED waking night support worker to join a therapeutic and educational children's residential service in Rudford, Gloucestershire.

Your role would be to support children and young adults during the night with emotional, behavioural, social and mental health challenges, in an environment where they feel safe and cared for.

You need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It is challenging, but gratifying work!!

Job Title: Waking Night Support Worker

Salary: £27,000 - £28,000

Location: Rudford, Gloucestershire (GL2 postcode)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours a week

Shifts: Waking Nights

**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence**

Responsibilities:

  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
  • Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
  • Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a children's support worker, or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • You must hold a Full UK Driving Licence you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • You must be able to commute to Rudford, Gloucestershire.
