Communications Officer - Dover

Salary: £32,041 per annum

Permanent, 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 12-hour shifts

Our client, a well‑established organisation operating in a fast‑moving customer‑focused environment, is seeking a proactive Communications Officer to deliver exceptional communication across all customer and stakeholder touchpoints. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, dynamic team where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver proactive and reactive customer communications

* Manage travel and service updates across all channels

* Respond to enquiries via Facebook, Twitter and other platforms

* Monitor competitor activity and industry trends

* Lead Business Continuity communications when required

* Build strong online relationships with key external partners

* Handle and resolve customer complaints from all channels

* Share traffic and congestion alerts affecting customer journeys

* Prepare and distribute service updates via email, SMS and social media

* Respond to reviews on platforms such as TripAdvisor

* Produce customer‑facing letters and updates in the correct tone of voice

* Monitor adherence to schedules and produce summary reports

* Manage SMS communication tools and associated data

* Work collaboratively with internal teams, including Operations and PR

About You:

* Proven experience managing social media channels

* Customer‑focused with strong communication skills

* Calm under pressure and able to work autonomously

* Strong administration and organisational abilities

* Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel

* Able to analyse data and produce clear reports

* Friendly, proactive and a genuine team player
