An innovative and growing technology business based in Cambridge is looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer with experience in ATEX / intrinsically safe design to join their engineering team.

This is a key hire, bringing specialist knowledge into the team to support the development of next-generation electronic products used in challenging and safety-critical environments.

The Role

You will take ownership of electronic design activities across the full product lifecycle, with a particular focus on designing for hazardous environments and compliance with ATEX standards.

The role combines hands-on design with testing, verification, and documentation in a highly collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electronic systems for ATEX / intrinsically safe applications
  • Develop mixed-signal hardware, including analog, digital, and power design
  • Support compliance, verification, and certification activities
  • Produce detailed technical documentation
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience designing electronics for ATEX or intrinsically safe environments
  • Strong background in electronics design (analog, digital, power)
  • Experience with microprocessor-based systems
  • Comfortable working in a compliance-heavy, documentation-driven environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable Experience

  • EMC / regulatory compliance experience
  • Experience working on complex embedded systems
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering environment
