Location: Kettering

Type of role: Temp to Perm

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday (Days) with occasional weekends and Bank Holidays

Salary: £19.25/hr (equivalent to £40,000/annum)

About Company

Our client is a prominent railway infrastructure company committed to excellence in the rail industry. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team. In this critical role, you will support the Warehouse Manager in leading a team to efficiently manage material deliveries and receipts, ensuring they align with our customer service objectives and meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

Lead an efficient team of warehouse operatives which is able to fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets & digital KPI development.
Ensure the delivery of materials to depots and UK and overseas repairers in accordance with production schedules.
Ensure new warehouse operatives are suitably trained within area of responsibility, provide support as necessary.
Health and Safety Management:

Ensure that people are trained and competent to undertake the roles employed and remain safe.
Ensure all vehicles, machinery and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose.
Effective compliance with defined operational standards and policies within and around the warehouse particularly ensuring people are aware of and abide by EHS initiatives.
Management of execution of work, workflow, processes and equipment, in order to ensure that specified targets are met or exceeded.
Facility Preparation and Management:

Support the design and fit out of a new purpose-built warehouse to suit working processes.
Ensure all operational employees adhere to these and understand any changes via staff briefings.
Support the transport plans and transfer of incoming stock, ensuring accuracy of expected inventory vice receipted inventory in line with warehouse management plan.
Materials Management:

Support the deployment of people, processes, materials, and equipment, and ensure mitigations are in place in event of disruptions.
Ensure inventories in area of responsibility are accurate.
Ensure stock movements/transactions are recorded accurately.
Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals.
Experience & Qualifications

Proven warehousing supervisory experience in a similar role is essential
Strong people management skills - Previous experience of managing teams and ability to priorities.
Financial / Budgetary awareness.
Management and use of MHE (previous experience of driving counterbalance, reach or VNA required)
Warehouse / People Management qualification would be advantageous.
Continuous improvement skills and knowledge.
Supporting teams as needed and work together to add value and manage challenges.
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage, motivate and coach.
HSE qualification (such as IOSH / NEBOSH) or working towards - advantageous
Experience with SAP (Or similar WMS systems) - advantageous
Experience in working in a cross-cultural environment - advantageous
