In this pivotal role, you will lead on tax compliance and reporting across the Group, ensuring obligations are met accurately and on time, whilst driving strategic enhancements to systems, processes, and controls.Working closely with the wider finance team, external tax advisers, and HMRC, you'll play a central role in maintaining robust compliance, delivering expert advice, and implementing improvements that contribute to the organisation's success and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of Group-wide tax compliance for VAT, Corporation Tax, CIS, and SDLT.
• Manage the preparation and timely submission of all tax returns.
• Prepare and submit Group tax computations and coordinate with external tax advisers.
• Deliver clear, high-quality tax advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for tax efficiency and support their implementation.
• Handle communications and negotiations with HMRC, resolving queries in line with current legislation.
• Assist in producing Group and subsidiary financial statements, including tax-related audit schedules.

Person Specification:

• Professionally qualified accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent tax qualification.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK tax regulations covering VAT, Corporation Tax, CIS, and SDLT.
