Agenda have an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Animal Technician to join our growing team in Cambridge. You will join a team that combines impeccable scientific credentials with a passion for animal welfare and implementation of the 3R's.

As a Personal Licence Holder, you will work with a team of scientists and technicians to ensure in vivo laboratory assays and tests are carried out in compliance with the Home Office, the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, GMP regulations, and internal policies and procedures.

Basic Requirements:

* Hold a Home Office Licence, to include rodents

* Previous experience working in an animal research facility

* Possess an understanding of ASPA and associated Home Office guidance

* Able to carry out welfare assessments for laboratory rodents

* Outstanding time management, accurate record keeping and computer literacy skills

* Good communication skills both written and oral.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Holding a personal licence undertaking routine and advanced technical procedures and projects

* Routine animal husbandry, observations, weighing and marking of procedural animals, environmental monitoring and record keeping

* Taking part in team discussions around current scientific work

* Seeking and following advice from the NVS, NACWO, Project License Holder and NIO and ensuring work is carried out in accordance with the 3Rs

* Providing support and training to laboratory staff

* Meticulous record keeping, such as animal and laboratory records both on paper and database systems

* Maintain and set up laboratory equipment
