A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Haringey is looking to appoint a dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to guide pupils through one of the most important transitions in their primary school journey - from the play-based EYFS curriculum to the more structured learning of Key Stage 1.

The school has built a strong reputation for its commitment to creativity, wellbeing, and personalised learning. With a supportive leadership team, excellent resources, and a warm community feel, this is an ideal environment for a teacher who wants to make a genuine difference.

What Makes This School Special:

A rich, play-informed approach to Year 1 that values exploration, storytelling, and practical learning

*

Strong cross-phase collaboration between EYFS and KS1 teams

*

Thoughtful, trauma-informed behaviour policies rooted in empathy and consistency

*

High-quality CPD focused on early years pedagogy, phonics, and inclusive classroom strategies

*

A leadership team that listens, supports, and invests in its staff's development

The Role:
As the Year 1 teacher, you will:

Lead a class of curious and kind children through a pivotal learning year

*

Deliver high-quality phonics and early maths sessions using proven schemes and tailored resources

*

Create a calm, engaging environment that supports independence and resilience

*

Work closely with teaching assistants and parents to support progress and wellbeing

*

Participate in whole-school initiatives and contribute to a vibrant staff culture

Who the School Is Looking For:

*

A reflective practitioner with a solid understanding of early childhood development

*

Someone who values the EYFS-to-KS1 transition and can build on pupils' prior learning

*

A creative thinker who uses stories, songs, and hands-on activities to bring learning to life

*

A calm and consistent adult who builds positive relationships with children and families

*

Open to ECTs and experienced teachers alike - subject leadership is not required for this post, though opportunities may be available in future

If you're passionate about giving children the strongest possible start to Key Stage 1 and want to be part of a nurturing, forward-thinking school community, we would love to hear from you.
