Facilities Maintenance Technician

Perform the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting of facility assets and other mechanical equipment supporting production operations and facilities. Responsible of all functions associated with the operation of multiple facilities used to house the operations of business.

Qualification Requirements

· College degree, trade school or military training to include training in electrical, mechanical, machine/equipment operations, facilities maintenance or 5+ years of related experience in related field

· Certificate(s) to authenticate knowledge and/or training of current practices and standards

· Electronics diagnostic training or experience

· Industrial wiring training up to and including 480 volt 3 phase

· Robotics training or experience

· Experience working in a regulated environment with government agencies, regulations, and employment law. (i.e. cGMP, EPA, FDA, OSHA, EEOC, OFCCP, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Skilled in electrical and mechanical operation and repair

· Ability to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment

· Working knowledge of maintenance trades (i.e. HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical)

· Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs. Experience in basic machine operations

· Ability to follow demonstrated instructions

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, and written directions

· Ability to write reports

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

· Ability to read and speak in English

· Intermediate knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, Pneumatics, plumbing, carpentry and hydraulics.

· Ability to use tools, read rulers, scales and gauges

· Ability to read drawings, diagrams or blueprints as reference

· Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

· Intermediate computer skills in order to operate client's computer system

· Knowledge of clean room protocol, procedures and material safety data sheet (MSDS) is required

Essential Functions

· Adhere to requirements of working in a clean room environment

· Use complex drawings, diagrams or blueprints

· Use hand or power tools

· Assemble products or sub-assemblies within close tolerances

· Maintain records as required for yield, quality, etc.

· Train and advise machine operators

· Responsible for equipment and facilities, including but not limited to, contracted services such as plant janitorial services and grounds maintenance

· Perform operations, inspections, testing, calibration, and preventative maintenance of equipment

· Maintains good interpersonal relationship with employees

· Maintains organizational procedures and controls in providing effective and timely services such as preventive and routine maintenance, equipment overhaul, and modification of building systems and equipment and emergency repair of the building structure

· Manage the pest control program

· Serve on Safety Team

· Manage and maintain an “in house” calibration program

· Document SOP/WI’s as required

· Maintain applicable site permits including pressure vessel inspections, fire system inspections, Hazardous Waste, and others

· Administer facility’s predictive and preventive maintenance program

· Assist staff with complex equipment problems or with major equipment failures, repairs or overhauls

· Establish means of responding to maintenance calls and set calls/project priorities

· Build special machinery

· Fabricate devices/structures to support and improve equipment operations

· Maintain all manufacturing equipment in prime working condition so as not to adversely impact production schedules for maintenance related causes

· Direct and coordinate installation, operation, maintenance and repair of equipment, electrical, air and/or water installation, sewers and fire suppression systems

· Make recommendations to Management to resolve maintenance issues and operations improvement

· Develop procedures for use in events of accidents, fires, or other emergencies

· Ensures all emergency standby services and equipment is maintained and in optimum condition

· Ensure all equipment requiring calibration verification remains calibrated while in use

· Ensure the manufacturing plant remains in compliance with regard to City, State, and Federal agencies

· Direct contracted projects to ensure adherence to specifications

· Change lights, ballasts, and filters to clean rooms

· Make adjustments to equipment as directed

· Maintain records as required in writing and/or computer

· Follow safety requirements of the equipment and processes in assigned areas

Physical Demands

· Requires good manual dexterity for a range of motions (standing, walking, bending, reaching)

· Lift, pull and push up to 75 lbs

· Requires the ability to regularly perform repetitive motions and to bond using repetitive moderate force gripping

· Requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift

· Cell or phone access for emergencies

· Requires visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors

· Requires fine manipulation, eye-hand coordination to manipulate very small parts

· Must be able to work under fluorescent lighting

· May require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet needs of department

Work Environment

· Manufacturing, desk, business offices, warehouse

· Clean room environment where gowns, hair cover, shoe covers, and gloves are worn at all times

· Requires the ability to work in extreme cold or heat

· Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals

· Proximity to moving mechanical parts
