Assistant Accountant, St Ives

£30,000 - £35,000

Reed Accountancy Cambridge have partnered with an Engineering SME business for the recruitment of an Assistant Accountant role based in St Ives.

This role is for aspiring accountants to assist the Finance Manager and Managing Director in the smooth running of the Finance department.

This will suit partly qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or AAT studiers with previous experience in similar roles.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

• Maintenance of cashflow forecasts.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts; Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Variance Analysis.
• Reconciling control accounts.
• Accruals, Prepayments and journals.
• Fixed Asset Register and depreciation.
• Budgets and forecasts.
• Assist with Year End closing.
• Financial Reporting.
• Banking and daily bank reconciliations.
• VAT returns
• Payroll
• Purchase ledger and sales ledger

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• AAT (level 4 studier or above)
• Experience of Sage 50 or 200
• HMRC Tax and VAT reporting
• Cash flow reporting
• Payroll and HMRC submission
• Sales invoice / management reporting
