Project Manager - Controls EngineerPeterboroughPermanent Position£55,000 to £65000Immediate Start Available Skills and Experience: Experience within Controls Systems - Systems Integrator.Experience within the food industry (preferred)Strong technical electrical understanding and experience is essential, preferably time served apprenticeship.Familiar with hardware offerings (PLC's, drives, HMI's) from major automation manufacturers such as Rockwell and/or Siemens, and the design of control and motor control centres.Experience with network concepts for operational technology equipment using managed and un-managed switches, copper and fibre cabling.Understanding of machinery and process safety standards, risk assessments, safety equipment design, testing and validation (using safety PLC's and IO as well as traditional means).Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, utilising the usual suite of Microsoft Office tools.Customer facing, experience with liaising with suppliers and customers, worldwide.Proven track record in managing quick turn-around technical projects.Previous programming experience, specifically with PLC's, HMI / SCADA and Historical Databases, would be an advantage.Role Summary:We are a leading independent provider of industrial process and automation solutions to the food industry and are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to support our ongoing projects in the UK and overseas.The Project Manager will be working with a team of Project Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers, Software Engineers, and Technicians to ensure the completion of complex, quick turn around electrical process and automation projects for the food industry.Your role will be to ensure delivery of a range of projects including conceptual design to match customer specifications, consultancy, software integration, installation and commission within time and budget constraints.The successful candidate will be responsible for all relevant project documentation such as planning and progress reports as well as holding frequent progress meetings with project team and liaising with third parties.A 'hands on' approach is essential in this role, and can involve anything from occasional control panel design / sometimes involves assisting on site (worldwide) with process commissioning and safety validation activities.
