Deputy Yard and Store Manager
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm

About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive and hands-on individual to step into a leadership development role within a busy yard and stores environment. This position offers a clear progression pathway and is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in operational management within a practical, outdoor setting.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will assist with the daily running of yard and stores operations that support both agricultural and construction activities. Over time, and with structured training, you will take on greater responsibility, with the potential to lead these functions independently.

Key Responsibilities

Support the General Manager in overseeing all yard and store operations

*

Supervise the Yard Supervisor and coordinate day-to-day activities

*

Manage deliveries, collections, stock control, and equipment maintenance

*

Operate a telescopic handler safely and competently

*

Maintain high standards of safety, organisation, and site cleanliness

*

Assist with ongoing improvements to site layout and operational processes

*

Liaise with other departments to ensure effective coordination

*

Take on increasing levels of responsibility as part of a structured development plan

What We're Looking For

*

Strong experience in agricultural or construction environments

*

Competent in operating telescopic handlers (essential)

*

Reliable, organised, and confident in supervising others

*

Forklift licence and full UK driving licence preferred

*

Comfortable using IT systems for operational and stock management

*

Positive attitude, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn

*

Background in or understanding of rural/agricultural working environments is highly desirable
