Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (Depending on Experience)
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (07:00-15:30 and 07:00-15:00 split)

My client a long-standing UK manufacturer that plays a key role in producing essential hygiene products used nationwide. With a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency, this business offers the opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking engineering team where your ideas and expertise will be valued.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage detailed weekly maintenance plans, including 5-weekly engineering shuts

Coordinate labour, contractors (30-40 on-site during shuts), tools, and equipment

Translate daily maintenance needs into prioritised, achievable work plans

Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Leads, Engineering Manager, and Production teams

Ensure all planned maintenance is documented and fully resourced (RAMS, SOPs, POs)

Maintain records using the CMMS system and support improvement of PPM schedules

Liaise with contractors and insurance inspectors

Promote health & safety through audits and safe systems of work

About You:

Mechanically biased with hands-on experience and contractor supervision

Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills

Confident communicator who works well across departments

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and SharePoint (MS Project is a bonus)

Completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship (City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent)

Comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving industrial environment

Desirable:

HNC in Mechanical Engineering

Experience in paper/packaging or similar manufacturing

Supervisory experience
