Senior Design Manager - Tier 1 Main Contractor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Manager to join a reputable Tier 1 Main Contractor on a major £200m Commercial project in Cambridgeshire.

Our client is one of the busiest and most respected main contractors in the UK, renowned for delivering award-winning projects across multiple sectors. Following recent success in securing multiple commercial sector bids, the business sees this role as a key opportunity to support continued growth.

Role & Responsibilities

As Senior Design Manager, you will be site-based and responsible for managing the design process throughout the project lifecycle.

Key accountabilities include:

Efficiently managing design management tools to plan, track, and monitor:
Design quality and compliance
Timely production of design deliverables
Progress of consultant and subcontractor design at all project stagesEnsuring best practice principles are followed, including:

Design assurance and buildability reviews
Alignment of design deliverables with the commercial strategySupporting the wider team by:

Monitoring design-related risks
Identifying and converting opportunities
Recording, assessing, and managing the impact of design changesAccurately recording all design-related project interactions, including:

Approvals, comments, submissions, and reviews
Daily, monthly, and ongoing design records
Driving results and ensuring all design approvals are achieved in line with project protocolsDesired Skills & Experience

Relevant professional qualification in a related discipline (preferred)
Minimum 3 years' experience in Design Management (RIBA Stages 3-6)
Proven experience of on-site project delivery
Strong ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships across:
Design, procurement, and construction functionsApply
