## Posting Summary

Professor with Tenure and Core Member of the Brain Health Institute (BHI)

The Department of Pediatrics, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Rutgers Brain Health Institute are recruiting an outstanding investigator to be proposed for an academic appointment at the rank of Professor with tenure (commensurate with experience). The candidate will also serve as the Director of a new Rutgers University Center for Autism Research, Education and Services (RUCARES). The ideal candidate will be a research leader in autism spectrum disorders with a strong, externally-funded research program who utilizes basic or clinical approaches to address key questions regarding autism and related disorders. Rutgers has considerable strengths in basic, clinical and translational autism research, with over 50 principal investigators working to develop new autism treatments. Rutgers faculty and students also work closely with the autism community in NJ, providing educational intervention services, developing policy and performing public outreach through the Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities and the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center. One of the primary roles of the Director of RUCARES would be to coordinate, nurture and grow current autism-related research activities at Rutgers. Applicants must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree, with demonstrated ability to lead an independent research program in autism spectrum disorders. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent start-up package. Outstanding core facilities will support this position, including a new 3T MRI scanner and a human behavioral testing core in collaboration with Princeton University. In addition, to facilitate genetic studies in autism, Rutgers has the world's largest university-based biorepository, RUCDR. Rutgers offers tremendous collaborative opportunities with over 250 neuroscience faculty labs engaged in basic, clinical and translational research, and proximity to the New York, Princeton and Philadelphia neuroscience communities. Rutgers values a culturally diverse faculty; we strongly encourage applications from female and minority candidates. Applicants should submit a CV and statement of research accomplishments and plans to:
