Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum

Are you a qualified accountant with a sharp eye for financial analysis and a passion for pensions? We're looking for an experienced Senior Covenant Manager to lead the delivery of our clients covenant assessment and monitoring programme across a diverse portfolio of pension schemes.

This is a pivotal role at the heart of their strategy, offering the opportunity to shape covenant policy, manage a high-performing team, and work directly with scheme sponsors and trustees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the assessment and ongoing monitoring of employer covenant strength, using both quantitative and qualitative analysis.

  • Oversee a small team of Covenant Managers and Analysts, managing workflows and ensuring timely, high-quality outputs.

  • Engage directly with employers to gather financial data, discuss business performance, and support covenant assessments.

  • Prepare and deliver high-impact reports and presentations to Trustee and Employer Committees.

  • Ensure compliance with The Pensions Regulator’s guidance and evolving industry best practice.

  • Respond to ad hoc technical queries and contribute to wider risk management activities.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years PQE.

  • Proven experience in covenant reviews, business reviews, or financial due diligence.

  • Strong report writing and stakeholder management skills - confident presenting to senior audiences.

  • Project management ability and a proactive, team-oriented approach.

  • Knowledge of the pensions sector, employer covenant, and the regulatory landscape.

  • (Desirable) Background in professional services, restructuring, or insolvency.
