Trust Tax Associate

Up to £60,000 DOE Fareham Permanent

We are seeking a Trust Tax Associate to join our client, an established and growing Tax team within a professional and forward-thinking financial services environment. This role will support the delivery of high-quality trust, estate, and personal tax compliance while contributing to a variety of ad hoc advisory tasks. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage trust registration and ongoing maintenance with HMRC.
  • Prepare trust tax returns, estate tax returns, and trust accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Complete inheritance tax reporting, including periodic and exit charge calculations.
  • Support a range of ad hoc tax tasks, including bond gain calculations, pension annual allowance assessments, and CGT and income tax estimates.
  • Liaise directly with clients and internal financial advisers to provide clear, timely guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trust, estate, and wider tax legislation.
  • Provide occasional support at client events and activities.

Experience Required

  • Strong knowledge of trust and estate taxation.
  • Experience preparing trust tax returns and related submissions.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical abilities.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to non-technical clients.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a professional services environment (accountancy, legal, or private client).
  • ATT or CTA qualification.
  • Experience dealing directly with HMRC.
