We are currently looking to recruit an NDC Despatch Manager to join our team at Florette in Lichfield.
Working hours: 37.5 hours p/w

About Us
Florette is one of three UK food manufacturing factories who are owned by the French co-operative group, Agrial. Agrial has operations across 18 regions with 280 farming outlets and it's not just about lettuce!

As well as the 3 factories we also have a farming operation - Agrial Fresh Farms. All UK sites operate under the name of Agrial Fresh Produce Limited and fall under Agrial's vegetable division. The business is more recognisable in the UK by its Florette salad brand and we are now one of the UK's leading producers in the industry. We have a recipe for success through our EPIC values and working together as one team.

Our Florette site is a well-established manufacturing business unit based in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Under the brand, Florette, the site processes and distributes pre-packed, ready to eat fresh salad bags to some of the UK's well-known retailers.

Main Responsibilities

To ensure all products are dispatched on time and in full to customers.

To manage the capacity of the Despatch area.

Be responsible for the Warehouse Management System and to ensure that Floris is always accurate and up to date.

Ensure all paperwork / documentation is completed correctly and signed off in a timely manner (Including monthly stock take information).

Ensure all Despatch procedures are carried out to comply with the Quality Manual and HACCP system.

Ensure all used and unused products are documented to comply with all traceability and stock rotation requirements.

Ensure correct stock rotation.

Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained throughout the Despatch areas in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

To ensure there is a drive for continuous improvement and drive efficiencies in all areas.

Ensure deliveries/despatches to and from site are done in a timely manner in accordance with customer requirements.

Ensure all CCP and loading procedures are always correctly followed.

Ensure that waste and recycling process is carried out in accordance with quality and hygiene standards.

Form strong, interactive relationships with the Transport, Production & Commercial Departments to ensure smooth running of the NDC.

Provide a service to all customers external and internal.

The management of customer visits to ensure compliance with required standards.

Attend daily meetings and weekly business meetings as required.

Setting and working within budget constraints.

Ensure company and statutory Health & Safety regulations and hygiene requirements are met all times.

Provide direction, motivation and support through management and leadership to all direct reports.

Ensure all staff are trained and competent in the tasks they are set, and ongoing training needs are identified.

Ensure all company disciplinary procedures, back to work interviews, performance reviews and conduct reviews are completed in line with process.

Skills and Experience Required

Good time management & organisational skills.

People Management Experience.

Minimum 5 years' experience within FMCG environment. Prefer experience of managing within short shelf life chilled food or produce industry.

Experience leading teams in despatch environments.

Experience of ERP (preferably Microsoft Dynamics based system).

Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Safety and Environmental requirements within a chilled produce environment. Prefer IOSH qualified.

Confident manager with the ability to lead, inspire and develop a team of Supervisors as well as other members of the team.

Good standard of numeracy and the ability to quickly assimilate large quantities of information. This role will require quick decision making and clear communication.

Project Management skills.
