We are recruiting for a Technical Services Supervisor for our client in Teesside to manage and support the team in the delivery of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Hydrogen field services. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising a similar team and have extensive hands-on experience in Hydraulics and Instrumentation. The successful candidate will be primarily based from the Teesside office but will also provide supervisory support to the Technical Services Team, leading in the technical execution of multiple projects both locally and at clients' sites.

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Competencies
- Diploma in Mechanical / Instrumentation Engineering
- Must have previous experience in Mechanical and Instrumentation service industry.
- Experienced in Hydro and Pneumatic Pressure testing, Cleaning, flushing, contamination monitoring and filtration services
- Good knowledge of Small Bore Tubing, piping, and system integration operation
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic hoses and fittings
- Knowledge of instrument tubing and fittings
- Ability to read and interpret Schematics, P&ID's and GA's
- Hands on experience in trouble shooting and maintenance hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Good application knowledge of hydraulic pumps, gas compression, motors, valves and cylinders
- Previous experience in management / supervision
- Language skills - must be fluent in English language
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel both verbally and in writing
- Excellent organisational and planning ability
- Strong focus on customer needs both internally and externally
- Competent in the use of Word, Excel and Project software packages
- Ability to motivate and encourage a team to achieve goals
- A driven individual who can keep focus on the main objectives
- A flexible and adaptable attitude towards work
 
Desirable Experience, Qualifications and Competencies
- Degree Mechanical / Instrumentation Engineering
- Offshore experience
- Project engineering experience
- Knowledge of High Pressure Gas Systems
- Parker or Eaton Hydraulic products knowledge.
- Knowledge of E&I, PSV calibration & certification, chemical cleaning and flushing, PLC's
- Familiar with ASTM, ASME, API, ABS and DNV codes and standards is an added advantage
- Management of multiple technical projects
- Advanced Hydraulics training certification
- MS Project or PRIMAVERA P 6.0 certification
- Accumulator maintenance & testing certification
- BOSIET (OPITO approved)
- Previous experience in working with Light Gasses (Hydrogen)
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Project Estimating
- Review customer supplied Schematics, P&ID's, BOM's and GA's to determine proposed scope of work
- To define the scope of work into a method statement and to prepare Cost Time Resource Estimates for completing the work using templates
- To define equipment specification requirements to execute the work
- To complete product take offs if required and prepare list of consumables
- Ensure written quotations to clients are delivered on time and as per existing company charge out rate structure Project Engineering
- Liaise with Customer Focal points to ensure the pro-active management and delivery of projects, in line with client contracts and individual project/work scopes
- To prepare work packs for execution of services in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures
- Develop and maintain project schedule and evaluate, organize and prioritise workload within a schedule
- Identify and supply pro-active asset management proposals to clients in order that we are adding value to our existing services
- Ensure client project/work scopes are completed in line with company/client agreed procedures
- Complete minutes/agreed actions from all client meetings and disseminate to appropriate personnel. Responsible for assembly and managing of project after action reviews, documents and procedures Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Instrumentation Design, application and Services
- Provide technical system and application support to customers and regional sales personal for products and system solutions.
- Provide concept level proposals and alternate solutions for customer applications and enquiries, produce method statements and risk assessments
- Lead the trouble shooting and maintenance of Marine, Petrochemical, Hydrogen, Offshore and Subsea Equipment.
- Provide technical support to design team for the design and manufacturing of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Hydrogen and Instrument Equipment.
- Manage and lead the installation and commissioning of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Hydrogen and Instrumentation Equipment both onshore and offshore.
- Liaise with Aberdeen and Glasgow Engineers to ensure that in-house manufacturing of equipment are completed as per customer specifications, quality standards and schedule.
- Ensure that in-house overhauling and testing of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Hydrogen and Instrumentation Equipment such as pumps/compressors, actuators, control valves, cylinders, PSV's and accumulators are completed as per procedures - ensure necessary reports and engineering data are generated.
- Provide technical support and guidance to service technicians and fitters on day to day jobs
