Financial Reporting Manager

A leading international services organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Reporting Manager to oversee statutory reporting, month-end close, and financial governance across multiple UK and EMEA entities. This role is ideal for a senior finance professional with strong technical expertise, audit training, and proven experience managing complex reporting cycles within a multi-site environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Month-End Close & Technical Accounting Leadership:
- Oversee the delivery of the monthly close process to global deadlines, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Review and approve month-end journals prepared by the team.
- Lead the review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring quality, timely resolution of variances, and robust financial controls.
- Oversee intercompany reconciliation and settlement processes.
- Statutory Reporting & Compliance:
- Take ownership of statutory accounts preparation for a portfolio of UK and potentially non-UK entities including LLPs, Limited companies, and Holding companies.
- Act as the key contact for the UK Group audit, managing timelines, deliverables, and coordination with auditors to ensure smooth completion and filing.
- Lead the preparation and review of UK Group financial statements.
- Assess differences between local GAAP and management accounts; oversee appropriate adjustments and technical treatments.
- VAT, Tax & Fiscal Obligations:
- Oversee preparation and review of VAT returns and support VAT-related compliance queries.
- Provide oversight for other fiscal submissions including Corporation Tax data, PSA, statistical returns, and other local filing requirements.
- Work closely with the Tax team to ensure CIT returns, withholding tax, and transfer pricing obligations are met.
- Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering:
- Build strong relationships with external advisors, auditors, and local accountants across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partner with AP, Billing, Treasury, and Payroll to ensure accurate cost allocation and data integrity.
- Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement:
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and oversight to junior team members.
- Strengthen and maintain a robust control environment, identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) with significant post-qualified experience, ideally trained in audit within a top-tier firm.
- Proven experience managing statutory reporting and financial accounting in a multi-entity, international environment with exposure to FX.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including experience preparing financial statements under FRS 102.
- Demonstrable experience owning VAT preparation, review, and submission processes.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and familiarity with consolidation concepts.
