COMPANY: TEACHING PERSONNEL

JOB TYPE: Permanent, Full time

SALARY: £100 - £200 per day

A Church of England School in Eastbourne are looking for a SENCO to begin in September. As well as the SENCO role, the successful candidate will also be class teaching 3 days a week. Knowledge of the Christian Ethos is desirable.

Summary of role:

  • Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school
  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
  • Be the designated teacher for Looked After Children
  • Co-ordinate, monitor and evaluate the impact of provision for pupils eligible for Pupil Premium funding
  • Lead (or deputise, as required) for Safeguarding across the school

We are looking for candidate who:

  • Has a minimum of 3 years teaching experience
  • Has experience of teaching pupils with a range of SEND
  • Has experience of working with/supporting families
  • Is able to support/develop colleagues
  • Can prioritise their own workload and respond to unexpected needs
  • Can manage and oversee the work of others
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can support and contribute to the Christian ethos of our school

The SENCO will also be expected to fulfill the professional responsibilities of a teacher, teaching a range of year groups 3 days of the week.
