Autism Specialist TA
Teaching personnel is recruiting on behalf of an Ofsted rated 'Good' school in the Manchester city centre for an autism specialist.
You will be providing 1:1 support for a year 9 student. The primary duties will be helping the student develop academically as they begin their GCSE's and providing 1:1 support to help with social interactions in and around school. The school are looking for an experienced TA who can ensure that the pupil is engaged and enjoying school life whilst making progress. Due to the nature of autism spectrum condition, it is essential for the successful candidate to have an approachable, patient, and personable demeanour.
Experience working with SEN children is essential, including youth work, sports coaching, or care work but any specific autism or classroom SEN TA experience is preferred. You will need to be prepared to efficiently deal with potentially challenging behaviour, so a calm and patient approach is essential.
The school is an Ofsted rated 'good' secondary school in inner city Manchester with a diverse range of students and staff. The school has parking facilities and is easily accessible from surrounding areas Whalley Range, Fallowfield or Stockport with excellent public transport links. They have developed an excellent culture with a pupil first mentality hoping to sustain improvements by developing character, values, and beliefs for both staff and student.
You will be joining a large SEN department reporting directly to a highly supportive SENCO and assistant SENCO.
- Pay starting at £1300 per month but negotiable depending on experience
- February 22nd start date
