Job Description
  • Verify insurance benefits, schedule appointments and collect copayments and co insurance amounts as applicable.
  • Keep abreast of all verification and authorization procedures of third party payers
  • Greet patients and answer phones in a friendly manner.
  • Maintain and organize patient paperwork and charts.
  • Routinely contact patients who have missed appointments to re-schedule appointments.
  • Develop form letters for patient communication as may be need  ed. 
  • Update patient accounts to reflect patient payments and submit Time of Service report daily to ensure balance of end of day activity.
  • Interact positively, friendly, and professionally with physicians, patients/family, office staff, hospital staff, insurance companies, worker's compensation adjusters and others.
  • Speak clearly, concisely, and understandably in a group or one-on-one.  Articulate thoughts well and has a good rapport with listeners.
  • Listen well.  Asks for clarification as appropriate.  Demonstrates respect for others.
  • Utilize initiative; strive to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated.
  • Solve practical problems and manage a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Respond to issues and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
