Industrial Work Solutions Ltd are recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing engineering company based in Morecambe, for the position of Mechanical Fitter.

This is a permanent role or fixed contract depending on preference offering an exciting opportunity to join a specialist engineering team working on the assembly, testing, and maintenance of innovative mechanical equipment used in offshore and renewable energy applications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assemble, test, and service specialist offshore and mechanical equipment.

* Perform repairs and maintenance on mechanical systems and tools.

* Inspect and refurbish existing products to high safety and quality standards.

* Collaborate with engineers to improve tooling and assembly processes.

* Troubleshoot mechanical faults and identify practical solutions.

* Work in line with health & safety regulations at all times.

* Maintain detailed records of work completed and support quality documentation.

* Participate in training and continuous development.

Requirements:

* Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Workshop Technician, or similar.

* Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings.

* Skilled in using workshop tools and hydraulic equipment.

* Valid Forklift Truck and IPAF licences (desirable).

* Good communication and teamwork skills.

* Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.

* Flexible approach to working hours - overtime may be needed on evenings or weekends.

* Health & Safety conscious with strong attention to detail.

* Relevant trade qualification in mechanical fitting or engineering preferred.

Hours & Benefits:

* 38 hours per week:

* Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00

* Friday: 08:00 - 12:00

* 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
