SENCO

Are you a passionate and dedicated SENCO ready to take the lead in shaping inclusive education? A highly regarded secondary school in the heart of Islington is seeking an experienced SENCO to join their dynamic and supportive team from September 2025.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity at a vibrant, diverse, and forward-thinking school that caters to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. With a strong emphasis on inclusion, wellbeing, and academic excellence, the school has built a nurturing environment that supports every learner to thrive - especially those with additional needs.

As SENCO, you will oversee the strategic development of the school's SEN provision and take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy. You will play a key role in identifying students with special educational needs and ensuring they receive the tailored support necessary to succeed. You'll work closely with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals to create individualised learning plans and promote inclusive practice across the curriculum.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a recognised UK teaching qualification and the NASENCO award (or be working towards it)
• Have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
• Demonstrate proven experience supporting students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and dyslexia
• Be an excellent communicator with leadership potential and a proactive, compassionate approach
• This SENCO role is ideal for someone who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of students with additional needs, within a collaborative and well-resourced setting.

In return, you'll enjoy:

• A generous salary package
• Access to excellent CPD and leadership development opportunities
• A supportive SLT and engaged staff body
• Fantastic transport links and a vibrant local community
