Salary: £400 - £450/day

The Interim Procurement Manager will work within a small, supportive team. You'll lead and contribute to tendering exercises, create procurement documentation, monitor supplier performance, analyse spend data, and support contract management. You will also be the point of contact for procurement processes and systems, including e‑tendering platforms and finance systems.

Description

Key responsibilities include:

Provide a customer‑focused procurement service to internal stakeholders.
Communicate and support delivery of the organisation's procurement strategy.
Advise on complex procurement matters in line with established regulations, processes, and legislation.
Develop tender documentation, including frameworks, specifications, and evaluation criteria.
Monitor supplier performance, conduct contract reviews, and develop KPIs.
Evaluate supplier responses, coordinate supplier presentations, and manage related administration.
Draft and finalise Terms and Conditions following procurement exercises.
Analyse procurement needs using available financial and business intelligence systems.
Complete statutory returns and respond to information requests.
Ensure legal compliance, including adherence to Public Sector Procurement Legislation.
Promote continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing processes.
Use online systems including In‑Tend (e‑tendering) and Business World (finance).
Ensure compliance with Data Protection, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Safety, and Sustainability requirements.

Profile

A successful Interim Procurement Manager should have:

Experience applying Public Sector Procurement regulations.
Experience managing tendering procedures and creating tender documentation.
Experience drafting contracts and supporting customer‑focused procurement activity.
Strong analytical skills and experience using data to support decisions.
Ability to plan and manage complex workloads.
Proficiency with IT systems, including Microsoft Office.

Job Offer

Competitive daily rate between £400 and £450, depending on experience.
