Company: DISTINCT RECRUITMENT

Job Type: Permanent, FullTime

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a listed business with big growth plans as a Finance Manager. It’s a broad, hands-on role working from their newly refurbished Head Office (with hybrid working), where you’ll lead a small team, take ownership of the management accounts process, and drive improvements across finance operations.

But what really stands out here? The team.

You’d be hard pressed to find a more welcoming, knowledgeable, and down-to-earth bunch. The leadership team are genuinely brilliant—experienced, approachable, and keen to get people involved in the right things to develop and progress. There’s a real balance between structure and autonomy, and they’re big on empowering people to make decisions, suggest improvements, and shape how things are done. It’s a team-first culture where your opinion is valued and listened to.

What’s in it for you?

  • Clear progression path – with exciting growth plans, you’ll have the chance to step into new projects and take on more responsibility quickly
  • People leadership – manage and develop a team of three Accounts Associates, supporting their professional growth
  • Project variety – from month-end close to process improvement, systems upgrades, change management and audit support – there’s loads to get stuck into
  • Flexible hybrid model – three days in the office (which is super modern, with some cool perks like great coffee, breakout spaces, and onsite parking), with flexible hours to fit around your life
  • Great package – £55,000 – £65,000 + share options, matched pension, enhanced parental leave & sick pay, life assurance, 34 days holiday (+ buy/sell scheme)
  • Learning & development – whether it's formal training, lunch & learns or professional subscriptions, they’ll back your growth
  • A voice that matters – you’ll be encouraged to contribute ideas and challenge the norm – no red tape or top-down mindset here

The role itself

You’ll report to the Group Financial Controller and work closely with stakeholders across the business. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of three Accounts Associates (all studying towards qualification)
  • Managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Commission Control Accounts
  • Owning the month-end and year-end close for the main trading entities, delivering accurate management accounts to Group deadlines
  • Maintaining robust balance sheet controls and reconciliations
  • Providing evidence and explanations to support the external audit
  • Identifying and embedding process improvements to strengthen controls and increase efficiency
  • Partnering with wider teams to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements

What we’re looking for

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced finance team, with knowledge of month-end close and controls
  • People management experience – someone who enjoys developing others
  • Confident working with systems (ERP/NetSuite preferred) and Excel
  • A continuous improvement mindset – someone who likes making things better
