Structural Engineer

First People Solutions is working with a leading consulting engineer, recognised for delivering major design and innovative engineering solutions within complex, high-hazard environments. They operate across sectors such as Power, Life Sciences, Defence, and Aviation. They're now seeking a Structural Engineer to join their expanding team in Glasgow.

You will be involved in a range of interesting and challenging projects, offering the kind of technical challenges you don't find at a standard consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

Designing structural elements across a range of projects, particularly in the power and energy sector. (Substations, grid infrastructure, renewable energy facilities, and others).
Producing drawings, specifications, and reports to industry standards.
Working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and efficient solutions.
Checking calculations, drawings, and supplier information for quality and compliance.
Supporting junior engineers and contributing to strong technical standards

Requirements:

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
3-5 years' experience working in a UK engineering design consultancy
Experience in the power sector is desirable
Working towards Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE or IStructE)
Proficiency in structural analysis software
Good knowledge of design standards and regulations
