Lead Practitioner of Science

Location: Richmond

A stimulating opportunity has arisen for an inspirational Lead Practitioner of Science to join a high-achieving secondary school in Richmond. This key leadership role involves championing excellence in science education, mentoring staff, and enhancing teaching and learning across all scientific disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics). The successful candidate will be a catalyst for innovation and student achievement in scientific inquiry and understanding.

The Role

The Lead Practitioner of Science will:

* Drive curriculum development and foster innovative teaching approaches within the Science department.

* Provide expert guidance, training, and coaching to Science teachers at all career stages.

* Model exemplary teaching practices in the classroom and lead practical investigations.

* Contribute to whole-school STEM initiatives and strategic planning for scientific literacy.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an outstanding Science teacher with QTS/QTLS who:

* Has a demonstrable history of significantly improving student outcomes in Science.

* Possesses exceptional leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

* Is passionate about fostering scientific curiosity and critical thinking.
