Reed Finance are working with a York based manufacturer in the search for their next Financial Controller. You will report directly to the MD and will be a key strategic sounding board for them in driving the business forward. Great role for someone who wants to manage a small finance team, be hands on with special projects and work closely with the manufacturing team.
Key responsibilities:
- Production of periodic financial and operational reports, maintenance of an appropriate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets.
- As a member of the Senior Management Team, responsible for implementing the strategy set by the Board.
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department
- Implement KPIs for the finance department, including cash control and other key financial
- measures.
- Manage the relationship with the bank and other finance partners.
- Act as a business partner to other functions and provide appropriate support where necessary.
- Co-ordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
- Responsible for all insurance matters.
- Produce monthly management information within agreed time limits.
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
- Provide a system of management cost reports.
- Provide financial analysis as required, particularly in relation to capital investments, pricing
- decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Review operating costs across the Company and offer suggestions for cost savings.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Ideally previous experience gained in the manufacturing sector
- Strong cost control background
- Evidence of strategic input
- Business partnering experience within an SME
- Qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA
