Serves meals that are timely, palatable, appetizing in appearance and are in accordance with established portion control procedures and therapeutic diets.
Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures to include but not limited to work tables, refrigerators/freezers, sweep/mop floors as directed, carry soiled utensils/dishes to work areas, wash and clean utensils as directed, empty trash containers into dumpsters, clean cans and replace trash can liners.
Keeps work area dry and free of hazards and sanitizes dining room tables and chairs.
Operates dish machine using proper sanitizing and safety techniques. Racks, rinses and feeds dishes into dish machine.
Washes pots and pans as per facility policies and procedures.
Places groceries, meats and supply items in appropriate storage areas as directed.
Transfers food trucks from dietary department to assigned areas in a safe and timely manner.
Follows all safety regulations, infection control/universal precautions, food safety regulations and facility policies and procedures.
Utilizes and maintains all equipment appropriately, i.e.: dish machine, coffee urn, refrigerators, mixers, blender, toaster.
Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment and accident/incidents to shift supervisor.
Prepares and portions food items such as desserts, salads, juices, coffee, and nourishments.
Assists in inventory and proper storing of foods, supplies, etc. as directed.
