Façade and Glazing Solutions is delighted to partner with Elevation Recruitment Group in the recruitment of a Bid Manager.

About us:

Originally founded in 1982 and acquired by Saint Gobain/Glassolutions in 1990, Façade and Glazing Solutions (FGS) is a specialist glazing contractor experienced in the design, installation, refurbishment and repair of building façades.

The organisation has recently undergone a period of change. Recognising the potential for creating a sustainable business with a long-term growth prospect, CoBe Capital* acquired the business and re-branded to FGS in August 2018.

We are now launching the next phase of our transformation, and we are looking to increase our “firepower” for our long-term growth journey by adding high calibre individuals to a range of core functions.

To support this, we are recruiting for a Bid Manager in our Major Projects Team that specialises in full vertical envelope solutions for projects between £1m-£50m.

The role:

The successful candidate will lead the bid process through a sustainable workflow to secure profitable and appropriate risk jobs. You will be securing appropriate resources throughout all tender phases to identify and implement solutions that increase profit margin and negotiating contracts within valid guidelines regarding margin, TC's and internal expectations.

You will work with the internal team, customers and suppliers to ensure accurate and detailed bids, value engineering options and technical back up to assist with the holistic project design.

As a Bid Manager you will help to develop the bid teams' capabilities to ensure that they are innovative and at the forefront of the industry.

The Person:

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Experience of managing multiple simultaneous bids through Bid Teams

• A good level of relevant education and/or relevant employment experience

• Excellent customer focussed skills with the ability to network

• A proven track record in tendering and winning major projects

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• High level of commercial awareness and financially driven business judgement
